Fika is often translated as ”a coffee and cake break”, which is kind of correct, but really it is much more than that. It is a concept, a state of mind, an attitude and an important part of Swedish culture. Many Swedes consider that it is almost essential to make time for fika every day. It means making time for friends and colleagues to share a cup of coffee or tea and a little something to eat. Well we at Kalmar will take you through this amazing Swedish tradition. We will meet outside the Nation at 15:00 and walk through the beautiful streets of Uppsala and make our way to Stadsträdgården where we will sit by the river and witness the picturesque views of the city. You are welcome to bring your own choice of beverage and snacks that you would like to enjoy. This will be a great opportunity to make the most out of a lazy Sunday afternoon by meeting new people and getting immersed into the Swedish lifestyle.
